Meet Michael Kent

Michael Kent is a Cleveland-based, self-taught videographer and creative director with a passion for telling compelling stories through video. Growing up in a family of journeyman hobby photographers—his father and grandfather both pursued photography as a passion—Michael was naturally drawn to the art form from a young age. A voracious learner, he embraced self-teaching, constantly researching and refining his craft. With an eye for detail and a perfectionist’s drive, Michael continues to evolve as an artist, pushing the boundaries of his creativity.

After spending over a decade in banking and working at the Department of Defense, Michael made the bold decision to leave the corporate world in 2018 and pursue his creative passions full-time. By 2020, he was working with Dreamhouse Marketing, providing photography, videography, and creative direction to elevate brands and help them connect with their audiences. His time as the community outreach coordinator for Coventry Village and his extensive work with brands like Phoenix Coffee and Cleveland Water Alliance further honed his skills and deepened his understanding of the power of storytelling.

In 2022, Michael founded Kogent Studios to focus exclusively on videography—delivering high-quality, story-driven content for brands, nonprofits, and corporations. His key strengths lie in his deep empathy and intuitive listening skills, allowing him to connect with clients on a personal level and craft narratives that resonate. Michael’s unique blend of creativity and organizational expertise ensures that every project is delivered on time and exceeds expectations.

Outside of work, Michael is a family man who enjoys cooking, baking (his brownies are legendary), and spending time outdoors with his wife and three children. He’s known for his kindness, honesty, and charm, and he brings this warmth into every aspect of his work, building strong relationships with clients and collaborators alike.
